Portfolio Summary Characters

	Gon Freecss Gon is the main protagonist of HXH. He is an athletic, outdoorsy, and friendly boy who is searching for adventure. He is not very good at math but he is a clever kid. Having spent a lot of time in the woods as a child, he is very good with animals. He is an Enhancer, who is known for being simple-minded, determined, compassionate, and stubborn at times.
	Killua Zoldyck Killua is the witty, pragmatic, and moody secondary protagonist. He is initially very confident about his own abilities and compares his strength with other people. He is a cheeky, cheerful, and mischievous kid who befriends Gon during the Hunter Exam. He comes from a family of assassins, being the heir to the family business. But he goes against this and runs away from home, wanting to find his true purpose.
	Kurapika Kurta Kurapika is a cool and intelligent individual, possessing vast knowledge. He is not one to open up to people easily and is quite judgmental. He is the last living member of the Kurta clan, a village of people who were hunted down and murdered by a group of thieves, the Phantom Troupe, so they could steal the clan's Scarlet Eyes, which are considered treasures due to their beauty. However, Kurapika managed to escape, and he swore to take revenge on the Phantom Troupe.
	Leorio Paradinight Leorio is initially introduced as a very selfish narcissist who places great emphasis on material wealth. He meets and befriends Gon, Killua, and Kurapika during the hunter exam. Despite his assertions that he is only after money, he eventually reveals to Kurapika that his dream is to one day become a doctor in order to help the poor. As his character unfolds, we see he is actually a very kind and warm person who cares deeply for his loved ones.
	Hisoka Morrow Hisoka is the extremely powerful and dangerous protagonist. He is portrayed as entirely self-serving, cocky, self-absorbed, and hedonistic; he does whatever he likes as long as it pleases him in some way. His insatiable love for fighting strong opponents and his enjoyment of extreme pain while doing so fuels his seemingly sadomasochistic desires. He meets Gon during the hunter exam and upon seeing his potential for incredible strength, Hisoka makes it his goal to battle him once Gon becomes stronger and more “worthy to fight”.
	Chrollo Lucilfer Chrollo is the calm, intelligent, and charismatic leader of the Phantom Troupe. The Phantom Troupe is a world famous gang of thieves and mass murderers. He is a natural born leader, strategic, and enigmatic. He is seen to like antique books and to be a philosophical person who doesn’t fear death. Very little is known about him below the surface or his past as he presents himself mysteriously. He is one of the powerful nen users in the whole series and a very dangerous force.
	Illumi Zoldyck Illumi is the older brother of Killua. He, for the most part, displays very little expression. In contrast to his expressionless demeanor, Illumi often speaks in a somewhat joyful and absent-minded tone. He is generally a stony, ruthless person with an extremely cold way of thinking, reflecting only his interest. He enters the hunter exam in order to find Killua and bring him home, but Killua isn't very fond of Illumi. He is a secondary protagonist.
